inmidtown plays a key role in the debate on London's global commercial status

inmidtown Chairman Kevin Munslow, spoke alongside Mayor Boris Johnson, recently at a conference to discuss how London’s Business Districts can remain internationally competitive and drive business growth in the capital.

Speaking on behalf of  the second largest BID in the UK, representing over 550 businesses in Holborn, Bloomsbury and St Giles, the Chairman highlighted the positive action inmidtown is taking to promote the district as one of London’s most important and thriving commercial hubs. This includes new programmes for waste recycling, pooled taxi and courier services and energy bulk buying, saving businesses money and reducing the district's carbon output.

He commented, “We are pleased to be a part of this topical discussion on the role of BIDs, particularly when we are entering a new period of localism. It was useful to open a dialogue with the Mayor and I hope both his office and the local authorities will fully embrace BIDs as constructive partners that can deliver success on the ground.”

Bringing together key London stakeholders from across the private and public sector, the debate demonstrated the benefits of collective action by the private sector in strengthening commercial areas.

Speaking alongside inmidtown’s Chairman, Kevin Munslow, were: Mayor of London, Boris Johnson; Dame Judith Mayhew Jonas, Chairman of New West End Company; Stephen Brown, Executive Chairman of GVA Grimley; Stuart Fraser, Chairman of Policy and Resources at the City of London Corporation; Helen Gordon, Group Property Director, Legal and General; Robert Noel, Managing Director of the London Portfolio at Land Securities.
