A giant step for guided walks. We celebrate our fourth anniversary.
Our programme of free, guided walks reached an important landmark on 23 June.
It was four years to the day since we set out on our first inholborn guided walk. Four years later and we have led an incredible 8,564 people on a total of 335.
In 2006 there were just 25 walks but, in response to public demand, that number has grown year on year and, in 2010, 66 have already set off from the information kiosk outside Holborn station, with six months still to go.
It’s not just the numbers that have grown either, so have the subjects covered. These now number over 60, from Knights Templars to Charles Dickens.
Our latest walks leaflet covering July to September is now available. One highlight will be our Hendrix’s Holborn walk in September, part of a series of events across London marking the 40th anniversary of the tragic death of this rock legend.
We’re also looking forward to another celebration in early 2011. That’s when we reckon we will saying hello to our 10,000th walker and we’ll be marking the occasion with a prize for the lucky person. It could be you!
You can download the latest leaflet here or pick one up from the information kiosk outside Holborn station.
