A river runs through it. Making the most of your Thames.
A series of initiatives from Transport for London are designed to get us all using our river more – and enjoying it.
These initiatives have been developed by the Mayor’s River Concordat, a partnership of organisations working together to ensure that river passenger services reach their full potential.
● New ‘River Bus’ and ‘River Tours’ brands will help passengers distinguish between the available commuter and leisure services.
● A new ‘tube-style’ River Bus map, available online and incorporated in a new River Bus Guide leaflet. A River Tours map will be published this summer.
● Improved signage will include an illuminated flag displayed at piers as well as direction signs from nearby streets and stations.
● Real time information will be available at the piers, online and via an iPhone application.
● An updated website at www.tfl.gov.uk/river will make it far easier to plan journeys.
● A marketing campaign will encourage those working or living close to piers to make more journeys by water.
● Special offers will also be available on Thames Clippers and Thames River Taxi services. For full details, click here.
