Inholborn Teams Up With New Recycling Contractors for Better Recycling Service.
Our new partnership will offer more avenues for cost reduction and landfill reduction, and provide a better service to all members.
Inholborn’s recycling service started in October 2008 and was always intended as a pilot project. The free and easy service was designed to be cost-cutting and carbon saving for businesses. Our aims were to promote recycling, enable greater business participation, and divert waste from landfill. The take-up and growth of the service has been rapid and our data confirms that all businesses that are signed up have increased their recycling waste stream and sent less waste to land fill.
The project has been so successful that we have reached maximum capacity. We have found a waste management company to partner with in order to continue to deliver a free recycling service and develop a comprehensive waste package to cater for all business needs.
Alongside the partnership with come cleaner streets. Collections will now be made from a few collection points, and all completed at or just after 9:00 am, ensuring that the pavements are free of bags for the working day.
A whole new range of waste streams will also be rolled out from April onwards. This will include food waste, general waste and toxic waste. Our aim is to make the Holborn district Landfill neutral by partnering with a company that has innovative solutions to the recycling of waste. Every participating business will be able to robustly report on their carbon footprint and offset and their responsible closed-loop solutions for waste management.
