Holborn to Become Part of a Community Security Zone.
If your business is concerned with the safety of its staff, you'll want to find out about how inholborn is working with the Met to do just that.
The Metropolitan Police Service is looking to introduce a new initiative known as a Community Security Zone (CSZ) within Holborn. A CSZ is a geographical area, defined by the Police that may have significant political, cultural, economic or iconic status. Defining an area as a CSZ allows that area to benefit from additional security resources, security training and ‘joined up’ security arrangements.
The aim of a CSZ is to enhance and expand knowledge around security, counter terrorism, business resilience and continuity to ‘target harden’ your business. This is done through the sharing of ideas and mutual assistance between members. Another aim of the CSZ is to encourage businesses to have an honest appraisal of their respective preparedness for a terrorist event or major incident and how that will dovetail into the wider community to ensure normality is restored at the earliest opportunity.
The CSZ will be business led with the emergency services along with the local authority and InHolborn supporting the initiative by being representative at forum meetings to offer expert advice and training. The concept is designed to allow local business to set the agenda and steer progress to meet their needs. The Counter Terrorism Operations team will be contacting businesses. This team are working in partnership with inholborn, the Business Improvement District. If you are interested in finding out more about the CSZ please call the Counter Terrorism Operations Team on 020 8733 6144 or you can e-mail EKCTOperations@met.police.uk.
