Doing all we can to discourage crime before it happens is the real key to a safer and more pleasant area in which to live and work.

Apart from the deterrent value of the very visible on-street presence of Rangers and Police Community Support Officers and initiatives such as our RadioLink scheme, we also organise popular and practical Crime Prevention Events every month.

These take place in the foyers of various Holborn businesses and are an opportunity for Rangers and crime prevention officers to offer expert advice on everything from personal safety when leaving work and effective ways to mark property to spotting cash machine skimming.

And our initiatives seem to be working. Crime is down 33% since 2005 and 96% of BID members now feel that Holborn is a safe area.
