The Ranger Service

Our Rangers in their eye-catching orange uniforms are the visible face of inholborn – offering information and assistance to workers, residents and visitors and, as an on-street presence, making an invaluable contribution to public safety and crime prevention.

Fully-trained and equipped with handheld computers, they can log, track and report on any situation from faulty lighting and loose paving to suspicious behaviour or criminal activity. In 2008/2009, 1800 incidents were reported by Rangers and Police Community Support Officers of which 75% were resolved within 72 hours. Of these 585 were crime-related and arrests were made as a result.

With increasing numbers of visitors coming to Holborn, our Rangers are also kept busy simply helping people to find their way, handing out approximately 1000 maps of the area every week.
